In light of our economic and social climate, there is no better time than the present to call our cities and nation to corporate prayer and fasting. We undoubtedly are in need of a divine revelation to reorder our present world condition. It is time for the nation’s first region to take its place as the place of leadership. We cannot do that without returning to the foundational principles on which it was built. Prayer and the Word of God were this nations guiding light. Everywhere in our society where we have replaced them we have experienced recession, drought or famine. Our metropolitan cities across the nation need revitalization. Some call it “a revival of righteousness”. Plainly put, we need to return to the basics and seek God, and receive strategic plans to reach every sphere of our culture.
In January, we are launching Pray Metro-Richmond 2010, which is part of an on-going initiative to mobilize, strengthen, and build-up unified prayer in our community. We are convinced that the greatest weapon that we have against the rising tide of darkness is a church on its knees, and this, my brothers and sisters, we must endeavor to do together. We are far stronger together than apart.
January dates for Pray Metro-Richmond 2010:
January 25-29, 2009 – Week of noon day prayer at multiple churches throughout the area.
January 29, 2009 – Metro-wide Prayer Rally at 7pm (Prayer Rally Flyer). Located at: Manna Christian Fellowship 6851 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231.
